Associate of Applied Science in Applied Technology

The Associate of Applied Science in Applied Technology program is designed for trade and craft professionals who have completed a certificate or substantial coursework in a trade program such as welding, plumbing, electrician, or HVAC. The program includes coursework in project management and customer service, coursework in oral and written communication, ethics, and advanced office software. Graduates receive training in the professional side of the trade. Upon successful completion of the program (see Graduation Requirements section of the catalog), students could enhance an existing trade or craft career, seek, or obtain entry-level employment in a trades related field.

Requirements for Admission:

1. Must have 54 quarter credit hours in a trades concentration with a grade of “C” or above in each course from an accredited postsecondary institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or be a graduate of a Charter College certificate trades program (i.e., HVAC, Welding, etc.).

2. Certificate/diploma or coursework must be completed at an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and confirmed with official transcripts.

3. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
