New Information Technology Degrees & Certificates Offered Online

Published: May 4, 2015 | Updated: January 25, 2019

Reno, NV (May 4, 2015) – Computers have become an ever-present part of our lives, affecting our work, our entertainment and even how we pay our bills. While they seem easier than ever to operate, much of that is because of the information technology (IT) professionals working behind the scenes. Those jobs range from programming or engineering computer software, evaluating and implementing computer network architecture, developing and administering websites or coordinating a company's information security.

Those interested in acquiring a good job working on computers by earning a degree or certificate in computer systems have online options with Charter College information technology degree programs.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems program, which provides direct application, management, and control of technology concepts, including instruction in operating system operation such as Linux and Human Computer Interaction (HCI). Students will have the opportunity to study the concepts of system analysis and design in this 24-month program.
  • Associate of Applied Science in Computer Networking Systems program, which prepares students to seek careers in the field of computer networking. The 15-month program includes Windows Active Directory administration, cloud computing concepts, application development coursework, as well as general education coursework in oral and written communication, ethics, sociology, mathematics and environmental science.
  • The10-month Certificate in Computer Technician program provides the information and technical skills required for entry-level careers in the field of computer information systems. Computer technicians provide information to users on computer questions, install application software, and gather information for the purposes of computer operation and integrity.

The online program is available through the Charter College Anchorage campus. Not all IT programs are offered at all campuses. Details on the programs are available by clicking here or by calling 888-200-9942.
