A paralegal is essentially a lawyer's right hand. Paralegals assist lawyers by investigating facts, preparing legal documents, or researching legal precedent. They conduct research to support a legal proceeding, to formulate a defense, or to initiate legal action, and they help their lawyer prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and preparing legal documents.

Charter College offers two programs that prepare students to work as paralegals in the modern legal field with training in maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research, and drafting documents.

If you want to prepare yourself for a paralegal career in Alaska, Washington, or California, you can get started with our associate degree program in paralegal studies.
