Campus Medical Assistant Training

With medical assistant training, graduates can have careers in a wide variety of positions, including: Clinical or Administrative Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant. The Charter College Medical Assistant program employs a combination of clinical, technical and business skills making our graduates highly employable. Hands-on training with direct patient contact in a clinic setting is provided early in the program, preparing students well for the healthcare workplace.
The Medical Assistant program is available at all Charter College campus locations. The Charter College Medical Assistant Certificate program prepare graduates for entry-level employment in a medical setting.

Notice to students and prospective students: The Certificate in Business Office Administration program at Charter College, Anchorage and Wasilla, has been placed on student achievement show-cause by their accreditor, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (“ACICS”), due to material noncompliance with its placement rate standard of 60%. The Certificate in Medical Assistant program at Charter College, Anchorage and Wasilla, has been placed on student achievement show-cause by their accreditor, ACICS, due to material noncompliance with its retention rate standard of 60%.
Charter College, Anchorage, is a branch campus which includes the learning site in Wasilla. The retention and placement percentages reported above are at the program-level for the 2015-2016 Campus Accountability Report (CAR) which is available here under “Retention, Placement, and Licensure Rates”. For the 2015-2016 CAR, the Certificate in Business Office Administration placement rate was 52% and the Certificate in Medical Assistant program retention rate was 59% (later revised to 58%). The College filed a 2016-2017 Mid-Year CAR, including supporting documentation, with ACICS in March 2017; that report shows a placement rate in Business Office Administration of 44% and a retention rate in Medical Assistant of 71%. The mid-year CAR was updated, supported with documentation, and filed again with ACICS in late March 2017. The College stands firmly behind the sustainability of both programs, in our student’s ability to successfully complete programs, and seek employment in the field.
