IV/Admixture Certification for Pharmacy Technicians

DESCRIPTION:
This specialty course creates employment opportunities for pharmacy technicians to work in hospitals, home infusion centers, oncology services, and Pharmacy’s that specialize in IV admixtures.

The National Pharmacy Technician Association’s Sterile Product Certification Course has been designed to train pharmacy technicians on the topic of sterile product preparation and aseptic technique, including USP.

Participants must complete nine separate modules of home-based learning, comprised of a reading assignment and comprehensive exam. A score of 70% or higher is required for each exam. After completing the home-based study modules, participants attend and complete the laboratory hands-on portion that includes a series of validations for skills check-off.

Most health-system pharmacy settings require IV certification and/or prior experience for employment consideration. This course is designed to meet all applicable State Board of Pharmacy training requirements for IV Certified Pharmacy Technicians.

This course is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
