Partnerships

Charter College has developed a number of technical partnerships in order to provide our students with the most industry-current resources, enhancing their employability and expanding their career options.

Microsoft IT Academy
Charter College is a member of the Microsoft IT Academy Program supporting academic institutions in developing a highly global workforce for the twenty-first century. We offer several Microsoft Official Curriculum courses that prepare students for desktop and corporate networking positions.

Microsoft Office Specialist
Charter College provides courses on the industry standard Microsoft Office suite of applications. Microsoft Office applications include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

In today's marketplace, employers demand that their staff be capable of effectively utilizing and interfacing with many of these applications. Therefore, Microsoft has developed a system of certifications that test proficiency on these Office applications.

The certification track, called the Microsoft Office Specialist, has been incorporated into many of our programs, and is a degree requirement for these programs. Charter College uses Microsoft Office Specialist-approved courseware textbooks and materials.

Novell Academic Training Center
The Novell Academic Training Partner (NATP) program permits Charter College to teach Novell-authorized courses as a part of our degree or certificate programs. We have incorporated the requisite training for the Certified NetWare Administrator (CNA) certification into the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Science: Concentration in Networking Technology program.

CIW Authorized Academy Partner
Charter College has developed an affiliate relationship with Ascendant Learning as a Security Certified Program Authorized Training Partner (ATP). This affiliation provides us with the opportunity to offer SCP Official Curriculum to students enrolled in one of our Network Security programs.

Students enrolled in the Network Security degree program are trained to the objectives of the Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) certification. This certification requires the successful completion of both the Hardening the Infrastructure exam and the Network Defense and Countermeasures exam. Students enrolled in the Network Security program may choose to take these certification exams onsite at Charter College.

BICSI Corporate Member
Charter College is a Corporate Member with the Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) organization. BICSI is a vendor-neutral group determined to enhance the telecommunications industry by providing excellent education, promoting skill sharing, and assessing knowledge with professional registration programs. Charter College teaches students cabling standards and codes through the use of BICSI educational courseware.

CompTIA Corporate Member
The Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is an organization dedicated to advancing the growth of the information technology (IT) industry and those working within it.

Charter College provides training on the Linux operating system, computer hardware, and network security foundations through the use of CompTIA-approved course materials.  These course materials prepare students to test for the CompTIA A+, Linux+, and Security+ certifications.

Technical Partnerships vary by campus.
